River Reports and Conditions

Report for the 2024 summer season...

June 28th, 2024

We are now on the back side of the runoff. The Wind River is flowing at 1,570 cfs below Red Creek. The water color is now a cool green and caddis flies are hatching by the millions in the evening. Fishing is really starting to heat up with lots of hopper eats in the afternoon.

The runoff is starting to fall. We are over the big push of snow melt and now with warming temperatures the river is still very muddy and running high. Salmon flies and skwalas are starting to come off and the fish are happy!

June 7th, 2024

RUNOFF IS HERE! peaking at 4,450 cfs last night the river has more than doubled in size in two days. It is a chocolate milk color and the river fishing season has shifted into lake fishing. With such a late season for ice off in the lakes, the fish are hungry and eager to eat a fly. Our grayling and cutthroat lakes have finally opened up and we are excited to show you what an eager eat looks like.

Run off has yet to really get going. This is late for this time of year, however we are expecting it warm up very soon. For now we are throwing the hopper dropper and have been catching lots of fish.
